Protecting a document by using a password
3 At the bottom of the Save As dialog box, click Tools and then, on
the menu that appears, click General Options.
4 In the General Options dialog box, click in the Password To Open
text box and type the desired password for opening the document.
5 Click in the Password To Modify text box and type the desired pass-
word for modifying the document.
6 Click OK.
CAuTIon If you apply a password for opening the document,
the file is encrypted as it is saved on the drive. If you forget the
password, the document cannot be reopened.
Passwords are case-sensitive.
