Protecting a document by using a password

7 Type the password for opening the document a second time as
confirmation and then click OK.

9 In the Save As dialog, verify or change the file name and file type,
and click Save.

TIP To remove passwords from a document, use the same
procedure again, but delete the password entries in the General
Options dialog box and leave the boxes blank.
TRY ThIs You can also set a password for opening the
document as follows: click File to display the Info tab of the
Backstage view. Click the Protect Document button and then, in the
drop-down list that appears, click Encrypt With Password. However, the
Encrypt Document dialog box that you open by this procedure doesn’t
give you access to the password for editing the document.
