Changing the default file format for saving documents
set default file locations
1 Click File to display the Backstage view and then click the Options
tab. In the Word Options dialog box, in the left panel, click Save.
2 Click the AutoRecover File Location text box and enter the desired
path, or click Browse to choose the folder.
3 Click the Default Local File Location text box and enter the desired
path, or click Browse to choose the folder.
4 Click the Default Personal Templates Location text box and enter
the desired path for the folder that opens when you create and save
a new template.
5 Click OK.

TIP If you prefer to go directly to the Open and Save As dialog
boxes instead of the Open or Save As tabs of the Backstage
view, select the Don’t Show The Backstage When Opening Or Saving
Files check box.
TIP If you want the Save page of the Backstage view to default
to Computer instead of your SkyDrive, select the Save To
Computer By Default check box.
