1 Open References
Save the document as My references
2 Move the insertion point to the
end of the section titled “The
historical medicinal uses of
spices,” as shown
At the top of page 2.
Press q
You’ll add a citation here.
3 Click the References tab
In the Citations & Bibliography
group, from the Style list, select
MLA Sixth Edition
To specify a citation style.
4 In the Citations & Bibliography
group, click Insert Citation
Choose Add New Source…
To open the Create Source dialog box.
In the Type of Source list, verify
that Book is selected
5 In the Author box, enter
Herbert Reese
To record the name of the author of the work
being cited.
6 In the Title box, enter
Ancient Medicine
To specify the name of the work being cited.
In the Year box, enter 1999
To specify the year the work was published.
In the City box, enter New York
To specify the publisher’s location.
In the Publisher box, enter
Culinary Press
7 Click OK
To create the citation. The author’s last name is
shown in parentheses.
