Sorting Data
Sorting data in Excel is done using the menus and icons under the Data ribbon.
This section deals with sorting. The Sort icons are shown in Figure 21.1.
Consider the following example of a simple database. The data for the example
is on the sheet named Database in the Chapter 21 Excel file. The table is shown in
Figure 21.2. Initially, the data is in the order of (or sorted by) the employee number
in column B.
If you wish to sort the entire table by a single parameter/column, you have to
select a single cell in that column and click on the Sort icon. For example, if you wish
