Appendix: The Pivot Table in Excel 2003 and Mac Excel 2011
In addition to filtering or hiding a field through the local menu, Excel has the Filter
area above the table. Try to move
the Dep label to the Report Filter
area. You can choose to filter this entire report resulting only with the people of Dep 1.
Click on the arrow to the right of the Dep label and choose Dep 1. See Figure 26.14.
Figure 26.15 displays the resulting filtered PivotTable. I did not filter out the
males in our table, but since we don
drag and drop
t have males with the attributes filtered, the
resulting table shows females only.
APPENDIX: THE PIVOT TABLE IN EXCEL 2003 AND MAC EXCEL 2011
The only basic difference between pivot tables in Excel 2007/10 and 2003 is the
access path to activate the table. In Excel 2003, you get the PivotTable under the
Data menu. See Figure 26.16.
