Creating a Chart Using the Chart Wizard
Select the data you want to chart.
Click the Chart Wizard button on the Standard toolbar.
In the first step of the Chart Wizard, select the chart type and sub-type, and then click
the Next button.
In the second step, make any modifications or additions to the chart’s data source, and
then click the Next button.
In the third step, make any modifications to the chart’s appearance, and then click the
In the fourth step, specify the location for the chart, and then click the Finish button.
Before starting the Chart Wizard, you can select the cell range that contains the data that
will be used in the chart. If you don’t select a cell range, the Chart Wizard will “guess” at
the cell range. If the selected range isn’t correct, you can select the correct cell range as
you work with the Chart Wizard. To create the first chart that Alicia wants, you’ll select the
data in the cell range A5:D9. The range needs to include both the labels and the sales fig-
ures for each telescope model. You will not include the total sales within each region.
To start the Chart Wizard:
1. Select the range A5:D9 .
2. Click the Chart Wizard button
on the Standard toolbar. The first step of the Chart
Wizard is shown in Figure 4-4.
