Import Objects dialog box
table objects
in the Seasonal
The Tables tab of the dialog box lists both tables in the Seasonal database—Employer and
NAICS. Note that you can import other objects as well (queries, forms, reports, and so on).
4. Click Employer in the list of tables, and then click the OK button. The Import Objects dia-
log box closes, and the Employer table is now listed in the Northeast Database window.
Now you’ll use the Import Table Wizard to import the NAICS table. (Note that you could
also use the Select All button in the Import Objects dialog box to import all the objects
listed on the current tab at the same time.)
5. Click the New button in the Database window, click Import Table in the New Table dialog
box, and then click the OK button. The Import dialog box opens.
6. If necessary, display the list of files in your Brief\Tutorial folder, click Seasonal , and then
click the Import button. The Import Objects dialog box opens, again displaying the tables
in the Seasonal database.
7. Click NAICS in the list of tables, and then click the OK button to import the NAICS table
into the Northeast database.
Now that you have all the records in the Position table and all three tables in the
Northeast database, Elsa examines the records to make sure they are correct. She finds
one record in the Position table that she wants you to delete and another record that
needs changes to its field values.
Updating a Database
Updating , or maintaining , a database is the process of adding, changing, and deleting
records in database tables to keep them current and accurate. You’ve already added
records to the Position table. Now Elsa wants you to delete and change records.
Deleting Records
To delete a record, you need to select the record in Datasheet view, and then delete it
using the Delete Record button on the Table Datasheet toolbar or the Delete Record
option on the shortcut menu.
