Session 4.2
To fix the display of the other labels in the report:
1. Click the Wage label, press and hold the Shift key, and then click the Wage text box in the
Detail section. Both controls have handles around them, indicating that they are selected.
2. Position the pointer on the center-right handle of the Wage label control until the pointer
changes to a shape. Click and drag the pointer to the left until the right edges of both
selected controls are aligned with the 3.5 -inch mark on the horizontal ruler, and then release
the mouse button. Both controls are reduced in size, and you can now widen the HoursPerWeek
label. Note that you do not have to widen the HoursPerWeek text box, only the label.
3. Click the HoursPerWeek label (which contains the text Hours/Week), position the pointer
on the center-left handle, click and drag the pointer to the left to the next mark on the hor-
izontal ruler, and then release the mouse button. The complete label is now visible.
4. Click in an empty space of the EmployerID Header section to deselect the label. See
Figure 4-30.

Finally, you need to correct the problem with the Experience field name. To do so, you first
need to reduce the width of the StartDate label and its associated text box; then you can
widen just the Experience label control.
5. Click the StartDate label, press and hold the Shift key, and then click the StartDate text box in
the Detail section. Both controls have handles around them, indicating that they are selected.
6. Position the pointer on the center-left handle of the StartDate label control, click and drag the
pointer to the right to the 5.75 -inch mark on the horizontal ruler, and then release the mouse
button. Both controls are reduced in size, and you can now widen the Experience label.
7. Click the Experience label, position the pointer on the center-right handle, click and drag
the pointer to the right to the 5.5 -inch mark on the horizontal ruler, and then release the
mouse button.
Now you need to switch back to Print Preview and make sure that the complete names for
the PositionID, HoursPerWeek, and Experience fields are visible.
8. Click the View button for Print Preview on the Report Design toolbar. The report
appears in Print Preview. Notice that the PositionID, HoursPerWeek, and Experience labels
are now completely displayed.
Trouble? If any of the labels in your report are not completely displayed, return to Design
view and use the same resizing technique to correct the size of labels and/or associated
text boxes, as necessary.
9. Click File on the menu bar, and then click Save to save the modified report.
Zack decides that he wants the report to include a graphic image to the right of the
report title, for visual interest. You can add the graphic to the report by inserting a picture.
