Rotating Text and Using the Fill Handle to Create a Series
When you rst enter text, its angle is zero degrees (0°), and it reads from left to right in a cell. Excel allows
you to rotate text in a cell counterclockwise by entering a number between 1° and 90°. Why? Rotating text is one
method of making column headings visually distinct.
The following steps enter the month name, April, in cell B3 and format cell B3 by rotating the text.
If necessary, tap
or click the HOME
tab and then select
cell B3 because this
cell will include the
rst month name in
the series of month
Type April as
the cell entry and
then tap or click the
Enter box.
