To Create a Folder
When you create a folder, such as the CIS 101 folder shown in Figure 34, you must name the folder. A folder
name should describe the folder and its contents. A folder name can contain spaces and any uppercase or lowercase
characters, except a backslash (\), slash (/), colon (:), asterisk (*), question mark (?), quotation marks (“), less than
symbol (<), greater than symbol (>), or vertical bar (|). Folder names cannot be CON, AUX, COM1, COM2,
COM3, COM4, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, PRN, or NUL. The same rules for naming folders also apply to naming les.
The following steps create a class folder (CIS 101, in this case) in the Documents library. Why? When
storing les, you should organize the les so that it will be easier to nd them later. If you are using Windows 7, skip
these steps and instead perform the steps in the yellow box that immediately follows these Windows 8 steps.
