Tap or click the Browse button in the right pane to display the Save As dialog box.

If necessary, type Inverstonit Electronics Sales Analysis in the File
name box (Save As dialog box) to change the le name. Do not press the ENTER key
after typing the le name because you do not want to close the dialog box at this time.

If necessary, navigate to the desired save location (in this case, the Excel folder in the
CIS 101 folder [or your class folder] in the My Documents folder in the Documents library).
For specic instructions, perform the tasks in Steps 4a and 4b on page OFF 31.

Tap or click the Save button (Save As dialog box) to save the workbook in the selected
folder on the selected drive with the entered le name.

Sometimes, you may want to close an office le, such as an Excel workbook, entirely and start over with
a new le. Why else would I close a le? You also may want to close a le when you are nished working with it so that
you can begin a new le. The following steps close the current active Excel le, that is, the Inverstonit Electronics
Sales Analysis workbook, without exiting Excel.

Tap or click FILE on the ribbon
(shown in Figure 76) to open the
Backstage view (Figure 77).

Tap or click Close in the Backstage
view to close the open le

exiting the active app.
What if Excel displays a dialog box
about saving?
Tap or click the Save button if you
want to save the changes, tap or
click the Don’t Save button if you
want to ignore the changes since
the last time you saved, and tap or
click the Cancel button if you do not want to close the workbook.

Can I use the Backstage view to close an open
le in other office apps, such as Word and PowerPoint?

such as adding more content or correcting errors. The Backstage view allows you to access recent les easily.
