Lync provides a polling feature that presenters can use to ask the participants’
opinions during a meeting (Figure 10). The poll question can consist of up to seven
possible choices. The presenter has the option to view the results privately or share the
results with the entire group.
Finally, by enabling the recording feature, Lync meetings and conversations
can be captured for viewing at a later time. For instance, you can capture the audio,
video, instant messaging (IM), screen sharing, Microsoft PowerPoint presentations,
whiteboard, and polling portions of the Lync session and then play them back just
as they transpired during the live Lync event. The meeting recordings can be made
available to others so that they can view all or part of the Lync event. Instructors can
record Lync online class sessions for students who were unable to attend the original
presentation. The recording starts in Microsoft Lync; recordings then can be viewed
within the Recording Manager feature.
