Protecting your data
A database can be protected with a password. This prevents
unauthorized users from successfully opening the database.
As part of the password protection process, the database is
encrypted to prevent other software tools from being used to
examine the data.
To add or remove a password, you must access the database by
using a special sequence of steps that will open the database
with the Open Exclusive option.
Protect a database
1 Click the File tab, and select Open.
2 Select the file location.
3 Browse to locate the file.
4 In the Open popup window, select the file.
5 Change the option to Open Exclusive.
