Deleting E-Mail Messages
If you right-click on the paper clip icon in Step 2, a pop-up menu appears. Then
you can click Preview and see a preview of the file contents without opening it.
Deleting E-Mail Messages
To keep your Inbox folder from getting too cluttered, you can always delete
messages that you’re sure you’ll never need to read again. To delete a
message, follow these steps:
1. Click Mail in the left pane of the Outlook window. (You can also press
Ctrl+1.)
Outlook displays the Mail pane.
2. Click a message in the Mail pane that you want to delete.
3. Press Delete or click the Home tab and click the Delete icon in the
Delete group.
If you accidentally delete the wrong e-mail message, you can undelete it by
pressing Ctrl+Z or clicking the Undo icon in the Quick Access toolbar.
When you delete messages, Outlook stores them in the Deleted Items folder
so you can always retrieve them later. To retrieve a deleted message, follow
these steps:
1. Click Mail in the left pane of the Outlook window. (You can also press
Ctrl+1.)
Outlook displays the Mail pane.
2. Click on the Deleted Items icon in the Mail Folders pane.
A list of deleted e-mail messages appears.
3. Right-click on a deleted message and choose Move
Other Folder.
The Move Items dialog box appears, as shown in Figure 14-9.
