Click just inside the outer border of the chart in the top right corner to add the “gray
border” around the chart in order to “select the chart” for changes you are about
to make
Right-click on any of the data-points in the chart
Highlight: Add Trendline
The “Linear button” near the top of the dialog box will be selected (on its left)
Click on: Display Equation on chart (near the bottom of the dialog box; see
Fig. 6.28 )

Note that the regression equation on the chart is in the following form next to the
regression line on the chart (see Fig. 6.29 ).

Important note: Since Excel does not recognize negative correlations in the
SUMMARY OUTPUT results, but treats all correlations as if they were positive
correlations (this was a mistake made by the programmer), you need to be careful
