Using the Office Clipboard

Setting Default Paste Options
The long-awaited options that enable you to choose paste actions are part of Paste
With Live Preview in Word 2010. Not only can you choose the setting you want each
time you paste content in your document, but you can choose one setting over the
others as your default setting. For example, if you want to always paste content as plain
text, then set each option to Keep Text Only. You can set the default Paste commands
in Word Options on the Advanced tab of the Word Options dialog box or click Paste in
the Clipboard group on the Home tab and choose Set Default Paste.
Using the Office Clipboard
There are actually two Clipboards used by Word 2010, the system Clipboard and the
Office Clipboard. (For a distinction between the two, see the Inside Out tip entitled
“The Office Clipboard and the System Clipboard” on page 85.) The Office Clipboard can store
