Basic steps

Select the text you want
to format

In presentation files, text is usually aligned to the left or centre
of the placeholder. There are tools for both of these and for
right alignment on the Formatting toolbar. If you want text to
be justified (making the text meet both left and right margins),
there is an option on the Format > Alignment menu.

the insertion point is within
it, or part of it is
highlighted – you don’t need to
select all the characters.
