AutoShapes
Basic steps

Click the AutoShapes
tool to list the categories
You may find the shape you need under AutoShapes. If you
want stars, triangles, arrows, etc. on your slide you’ll find lots
to choose from. AutoShapes can be drawn and formatted in
the same way as the basic drawing shapes.

The Freeform and Curve AutoShapes in the Line
category don’t quite follow the basic ‘click and drag’
principle adopted by the other drawing tools.

Click and drag to draw
the object on the slide

Drag the yellow adjust
handle to alter the shape
Experiment with the various options.

Click and drag (note the
pencil shaped pointer) to
draw lines freehand

Or, to get a straight line

Click where you want the
line to start, then click
again where it will end

Click AutoShapes
Curve

Click and drag to draw

Click a path that you
want the curve to follow

Double-click or press
[Esc] when done to
switch the tool off

Adjust the shape

Tip
You can change the fill colour or pattern
or line characteristics of any shape using
the tools on the Drawing toolbar.
To select a drawing object,
click anywhere within it.
