To Bold a Cell
You bold an entry in a cell to emphasize it or make it stand out from the rest of the worksheet. The following
step shows how to bold the worksheet subtitle in cell A2.

With cell A2 active, click the Bold
button on the Ribbon to change the
font style of the worksheet subtitle
to bold (Figure 1–53).
What if a cell already includes a
bold style?
If you point to the Bold button and
the active cell already is bold, then
Excel displays the button with a
transparent orange
background.

How do I remove

Clicking the Bold button a second
time removes the bold font style.

To Increase the Font Size of a Cell Entry
Increasing the font size is the next step in formatting the worksheet subtitle. You increase the font size of a cell so
the entry stands out and is easier to read. The following steps increase the font size of the worksheet subtitle in cell A2.

With cell A2 selected, click the Font
Size box arrow on the Ribbon to
display the Font Size list.
