For a treasur y bill, TBILLYIELD returns the yield.
=TBILLYIELD(settlement,maturity,pr)
The TBILLYIELD function returns the yield for the treasur y bill. The TBILLYIELD function is
found only if the Analysis Toolpak is installed. It must be turned on using the Add-Ins
command from the Tools menu. As you see in Figure 6.39, the treasur y bill’s settlement date
is 11/15/1999 and the maturity date is 2/25/2000. The treasur y bill’s discount rate is $97.64
and the yield result is 8.53%.
The treasur y bill’s settlement date. This is the date after the issue date
when the security is traded to the buyer.
SETTLEMENT
The treasur y bill’s maturity date—when the security expires.
MATURITY
The price per $100 for the treasur y bill.
