PHONETIC
The text is the text string or word you want to extract from.
TEXT
The start_num is the number of the character within the text string or
word you want to extract from.
START_NUM
The num_char is the number of characters to extract from the
start_num point to the right.

PHONETIC
=PHONETIC(Reference)
The PHONETIC function extracts the phonetic or furigana characters from a text string in
Japanese characters.
When using the different language packs in Excel 2000, you’ll have to use this function to
adjust or change characters from the text string.
This is text or cell reference that contains the text that you want to
extract the phonetic or furigana characters from.
