Formatting Chart Background
Every chart has two key components that play a role in the chart’s overall appearance:
The Chart Area: The background area of the chart object. By default, the
Chart Area is colored white.
The Plot Area: The area (within the Chart Area) that contains the actual
chart. The default color of the Plot Area is either gray or None (transparent),
depending on the chart type.
Working with the Chart Area
The Chart Area is an object that contains all other elements in the chart. You can
think of it as a chart’s master background. For an embedded chart, the Chart Area
is always the same size as the embedded chart object (the chart’s container).
