Using the Drawing Toolbar
Using the Drawing Toolbar
To display the Drawing toolbar, click the Drawing button on Excel’s Formatting
toolbar. This button serves as a toggle, so clicking it again hides the Drawing
toolbar. Normally, the Drawing toolbar appears at the bottom of Excel’s window, but
you can place it anywhere you like.
Figure 6-5 shows the Drawing toolbar. As you’ll see, there is more to this toolbar
than meets the eye.

Table 6-1 describes the tools in the Drawing toolbar. The tools are listed in the
order in which they appear. These tools are for Excel 2002. Some of these tools are
not available in earlier versions of Excel.

What the Tool Does
Draw
Displays a menu with choices that let you manipulate objects.
Select Objects
Selects one or more graphic objects. If you have several
objects and you want to select a group of them, use this
tool to drag the outline so that it surrounds all the objects.
Click the button again (or press Esc) to return to normal
selection mode.
AutoShapes
Displays a menu of seven categories of shapes. Drag this
menu to create an AutoShapes toolbar. You also can
display the AutoShapes toolbar with the Insert
Picture
AutoShapes command.
