Understanding Doc Files Files you create in Word use the DOC file
type, which adds a .doc file extension to the filename, unless you
choose to save them in another file format. The default DOCX format
assigned in Word is backward compatible, which means older versions
of Word can still read the file.
Press Enter when you want to start a new paragraph.
To remove a character while typing, press the Backspace key.
To edit a word in the middle of a sentence, click where you want to edit,
and press Backspace to remove characters to the left of the cursor, or press
Delete to remove characters to the right.
