Splitting Table Cells
Splitting Tables You can also split a table into two tables using the
Split Table command located directly below the Split Cells command
on the Layout tab.
Splitting Table Cells
Just as you can merge cells to create one large cell, you can also split a large table cell into
two or more cells. When you split a cell, Word prompts you to choose how to split the
cell, either into row or column format. Any text contained within the cells is merged into
one cell, unless you specify differently.
Select the cell you want to split.
Click the Ribbon’s Layout tab.
Click Split Cells .
Specify whether you want to split the cell by column or rows and indicate
the number of each.
Click OK .
Word splits the cells as directed.
