Using Task Panes
Note
Where Did It Go? A contextual tab remains visible as long as the re-
lated object is selected. When you click elsewhere, it disappears.
Using Task Panes
A task pane is a window that enables you to perform common tasks without covering your
document (such as a dialog box does). Microsoft has converted many dialog boxes to task
panes in Office 2013. For example, look at the Format Shape pane.
Right-click a shape. (You can insert one by clicking the Shapes button on
the Insert tab as described in Chapter 5 . )
Select Format Shape from the menu that displays.
On the Format Shape pane, adjust the format settings to change the look of
your shape.
