Working with PivotTable Data
For Your Information: Creating a Relationship Between Tables
When you have more than one table and a common column in a Data
Model, you can create a relationship ( New ! ) between them that lets
you build PivotTables and other reports using fields from each table.
Table relationships can be one-to-one (each student has one seat) or
one-to-many (each class has many students), but not many-to-many,
which would create dependency errors. Click the Data or Analyze (un-
der PivotTable Tools) tab, click the Relationships button (if grayed out,
it only contains one table), click New, specify the main table and com-
mon column (Foreign), specify the related table and related column,
and then click OK.
