This chapter introduced the programs that are part of the Microsoft Offi ce 2013 system that
will be covered in this topic. You learned about core features in the Word (word processing),
Excel (spreadsheet), PowerPoint (presentation graphics), and Outlook (e-mail scheduling
and collaboration) programs. You also learned that you can perform more specialized
business functions with Publisher (publication design), Access (database), and OneNote (infor-
mation management). The chapter also previewed key new features throughout Offi ce and
